In times of war the government could be deceptive and straight up lying, and it’d become hard to know what is real anymore. Can you imagine what the government is making you do?
“Kafkaesque” Horrors:
The offices of large corporations can be a near infinite string of paradoxes and flawed systems, and perhaps not even the people at the top of the chain know what the hell is going on all the time. The fact your work defines your life and you need to sacrifice so much for it, that makes it a source of existential dread.
“Lovecraftian” Horrors:
and he was RIGHT
If you told Lovecraft about quantum mechanics he would go into a coma for 30 days and then write a classic horror novels with racist undertones.

I don’t want characters to make Morally Correct Choices, I want them to make choices which are Consistent With Their Fucking Characterization
Literally nothing throws me out of a story faster than a character suddenly and very obviously doing something that clashes with their characterization and established goals because it’s what the author would do in their place.

normalize not celebrating xmas. like every single piece of media involving xmas in any way shape or form has everyone celebrating it like no matter their religion they just like do it for the spirit or the holiday or whatever and if they originally don’t it ends w them giving in out of consideration and being guilted. like if you love xmas, that’s great. i love bubble tea and i love rosh hashanah, but i don’t expect everyone to love them or even experience them. it’s not sad for me if someone doesn’t enjoy them bc i’m not a self obsessed prick who assumes everyone else enjoys and celebrates the same things i do. pls be respectful this year, pls acknowledge xmas IS NOT a secular holiday, please do not other and exclude those who do not celebrate it. and btw this goes beyond inclusive language.
